Contains autographs of explorers with German, British, Italian, American, French and Danish arctic expeditions, as well as photographs and greeting cards addressed to Petersen, captain of the ship, Hans Egede. Album also includes two watercolors each by Rockwell Kent and Frederick Spencer Chapman. Two additional watercolors by Rockwell Kent are separate: MS Danish 5 (2).

Frederick Spencer Chapman was born in 1907. He studied at St Johns College Cambridge. He was a member of the British Arctic Air Route Expedition, 1930-1931 (leader Henry Watkins). He visited Greenland again in 1933. He died in 1971.
